Blowin' in the Wind
Living on a small boat you are much more in tune with your surroundings. We don’t have heat or cooling onboard. Outside is inside. The rain hits the deck just a few inches above your pillow. Time to get up and close the hatches. You sleep lightly, always sensing a different sound or movement requiring a quick look. This means we are frequently up for the day before dawn starts to lighten the eastern sky. With concerns checked out, it’s a time for quiet thoughts and introspection. The still waters, lingering stars, and rosy-fingered dawn can take you places.
Nostalgia is a frequent stop.
We are HERE, living a long-held dream. While we strive to be fully in this moment, there are times the past creeps in. How did we get here? What allowed us to realize this dream and pass on others? What does this mean? How do we keep this energy going for as long as practicable? What other dreams can we pursue?
After the coffee is brewed, we might have slid fully back to the present and what the day holds for us: today, and maybe a few ahead. But those quiet unanswered questions still linger inside, waiting for answers or absolution, or perhaps left on the proverbial mountain top fluttering in the winds.
We have Peace, Happiness, and Good Fortune at the moment.
That is answer enough.
